Completed in 2018 after more than a decade of design and construction, it redefined Delhi’s skyline and engineering capabilities.

Its leaning steel pylon, inclined at ~60°, carries 32 cables that fan out to support the deck, giving it that “signature” silhouette and making it a modern landmark visible from miles across Delhi.

🌉 Why It’s Special

Before this, India had never built an asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge, a design that distributes load through off-center cables and a single inclined tower.
Beyond function, the Signature Bridge also doubles as a tourist attraction, its top viewing gallery offers panoramic city views, making it both an infrastructure feat and a lifestyle icon.

🧠 Did You Know?

The pylon’s top deck, 165 m above the river, was designed to serve as Delhi’s highest observation point. The bridge’s lighting system is fully programmable for festivals and events, much like international icons such as the London Eye or Sydney Harbour Bridge.
