Project: Elevated Metro network comprising Mumbai Metro Lines 4, 4A and integration with Metro Line 11
Coverage: Between Wadala (Mumbai), Thane, and the city’s eastern suburbs
Length: Approximately 58 km of elevated corridor once Lines 4, 4A, and 11 are fully connected.

🏗️ How It’s Being Built & Key Features

The corridor is being constructed in phases; trial runs have begun on some stretches (e.g. Gaimukh-Cadbury Junction) of Lines 4 and 4A.
The project cost is around ₹16,000 crore and it includes elevated viaducts, stations, depots.
It will use 6-coach trains, with a large depot under construction at Mogharpada to service multiple lines: Lines 4, 4A, 10, and 11.

Records: On completion, this will be India’s longest continuous elevated metro corridor.
Traffic Relief: Expected to significantly reduce journey times between Thane and Mumbai, easing congestion on roads.
High Ridership: Projections estimate it will serve over 21 lakh (2.1 million) passengers daily.
